We have linked up with Wamono school in Kenya. The school lies north of Nairobi towards the Ugandan border. Wamono is very remote and very poor. The school is on a very difficult site: stone, mud and a steep slope.

School pupils have uniforms but no shoes. They have very basic classrooms with no electricity and no windows.

They are embarking upon new building work for four new cloassrooms. They are 'poor but very cheerful'. The money that they received from the church last year enabled them to put up a proper school gate. Prior to that they were able to erect a fence around the school compound, protecting the pupils and staff from intruders.
